𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐦. 𝐁𝐢𝐤𝐞. 𝐑𝐮𝐧. 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞! 🏅✨
Calling all young athletes, weekend adventurers, and future champions between the ages of 6-15! The 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐌𝐂𝐀 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐧 is back on Wednesday, August 5th at 6:00 PM, and it’s time to help your kids discover what they are truly capable of.
In a world where kids are increasingly connected to screens, a triathlon is the ultimate real-world challenge. It’s where "virtual points" are replaced by physical grit, determination, and the unforgettable feeling of crossing a real finish line. Our Youth Triathlon is built to be a safe, high-energy event where kids can build confidence, celebrate health, and cheer on their peers.
Whether your child is a seasoned competitive athlete or trying a multi-sport event for the very first time, this night is all about fun, personal achievement, and community spirit.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:
📅 When: Wednesday, August 5th
⏰ Time: Race kicks off at 6:00 PM
💰 Cost: Only $20 per participant!.
An app can't teach a child how to dig deep and find their second wind, but the cheering crowd on Hewitt Street will! Give your kids a memory that lasts long after summer ends. Because when it comes to celebrating our local youth... there is no place like this place. 🦁💙
👉 Secure your child’s spot today by registering at the BRY Welcome Desk!

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄
Blair County, extreme heat is on the way. With a dangerous "heat dome" settling over our region, temperatures are reaching critical levels. Exposure to this kind of sustained heat isn’t just uncomfortable—it can be a serious health risk.
We are officially opening our doors to the public as a 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. If you or someone you know needs a safe, air-conditioned place to escape the oppressive heat, lower your body temperature, and get a cold drink of water, please come see us. You do not need a YMCA membership to use our facility as a cooling station.☀️
𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬:
💦 𝙃𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘽𝙀𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙀 𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙮: Don't wait until your body feels depleted. Sip water continuously throughout the day. Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic beverages, which can actually accelerate dehydration.
🛑𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙠-𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚: Avoid strenuous outdoor activities between 10:00AM and 4:00 PM when the sun and humidity are at their highest. If you must work outside, take frequent breaks in the shade.
🏠 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝙑𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙉𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙨: Take a moment to call or knock on the door of elderly neighbors, those living alone, or families with infants to ensure their cooling systems are working.
🚗 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝘽𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙠: Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle for any amount of time. Internal car temperatures can reach fatal levels in a matter of minutes.
⚠️ 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙀𝙭𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙫𝙨. 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚: Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, weakness, and a fast pulse. (Move to a cool place, sip water, use cool cloths). Heat Stroke: High body temperature (103 or higher), hot/red/dry skin (no sweating), confusion, fainting. This is a medical emergency—call 911 immediately.
👉 Please share this post to help us spread the word to anyone who might need a cool place to rest today. For facility hours or questions, call us at 814-695-4467 or visit www.BlairRegionalYMCA.org.
